In the event of a “snow emergency”, which is defined as an accumulation of at least 3″ of snow with more snow actually falling, anticipated or forecast, it is very important as a resident of the Town of Ranchester to be attentive to the weather conditions. We ask that all vehicles be moved off the streets during a snow emergency so the snow plows can clear the streets as quickly and efficiently as possible.
For safety reasons, the Mayor or Maintenance Supervisor have the authority to determine and prohibit any parking on any public street or highway during a snow emergency.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The “main” street through Ranchester is a State Highway (U.S. Highway 14). The State maintenance crew is responsible for snow removal.
