The Town of Ranchester Water Department is upgrading its water meter reading equipment. Ranchester is one of the last towns in Wyoming still using a touch read water meter reading system. This system requires a town employee to visit each water meter in town every month and physically place a hand held reader onto the meter touch pad. New radio read equipment has been purchased and when installed will allow meters to be read from the street. This will be faster and much less intrusive to resident property. Over the next several months Town employees will be installing the water reading transmitters on each meter touch pad. This will take approximately 10 minutes at each location to install and program the new transmitter. We are asking for your patience during this equipment upgrade. If you have any questions about the new water meter reading equipment or anything else regarding the towns water system feel free to call Tracy Kepley or Gary Madden at 655-9702.
